On February 18, Haiti Cultural Exchange in partnership with the ActNow Foundation and BAMcinématek , will present the film Stones in the Sun by Particia Benoit starring widely acclaimed Haitian author, Edwidge Danticat (Krik?Krak!). In this moving chronicle of political violence in Haiti, the film follows a young couple, two sisters, and a father and son as they travel to New York and confront their interlocked pasts.
Stones in the Sun is part of the third annual New Voices in Black Cinema, a festival showcasing 27 of the best independent feature films, short films and documentaries from up-and-coming directors, producers, and talent throughout the Diaspora.
The film is starts at 1PM and will be shown at Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Peter Jay Sharp Building located at 30 Lafayette Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11217.
